Bourbon history starts here. In 1789, Elijah Craig became the first distiller to age whiskey in new charred oak barrels , a move that turned good whiskey into great Bourbon. Whether it was a lucky accident or a stroke of genius, Elijah Craig’s discovery changed American whiskey forever.

Today, over 250 years later, Elijah Craig is still known as the Father of Bourbon, and his time-honoured methods continue to define the category.
